We’ve volunteered with NMDR for more than 12 years, and these four incredible beings have become the heart of our home.

Bugsy, adopted at 9 months old, opened our eyes to the world of mill dogs. Daisy, blind but fearless, stole our hearts the moment she was offloaded. Violet chose *us* during a rescue, and Brody, one of our many “foster failures,” made it clear our family wasn’t complete without him.

Many others have carried away pieces of our hearts, but these four remind us why we do what we do. We are voices for the voiceless, showing up day after day—for faces like these.
