My husband & I adopted Maverick in June 2024 from NMDR. We traveled through Denver traffic, an accident, & a grueling hail storm! But, it was absolutely worth it. Though it has only been 1 year, Mav’s transformation is nothing short of miraculous. We learned immensely from adopting a puppy-mill dog. From being absolutely terrified of my husband to now snuggling with him at night. Despite his unknown past trauma, Mav continues to slowly trust and grow from it all. He enjoys massages, hiking, digging in the sand & snow, goat’s milk, & hanging out with his dog-bestie named Gretel. Mav brings an unsurmountable joy! We applaud the NMDR team for saving dogs like Maverick and entrusting us with him. Before adopting Mav, my husband & I loved the name Maverick. Maverick (named by NMDR) is still Maverick. It was meant-to-be.
