Pet's Story or Bio
Norfolk SPCA alum and December 2020 poster pup ‘Scotty’, now Gregoire ‘Gregor’ McMichael Seck-Labadie, has come a long was from being dropped off with no name or history in a rural shelter in North Carolina. This Senior pup had 95% of his hair gone, severe atrophy in his legs to a point where he could not walk, and was severely underweight and malnourished.

8 months later, you would never guess his previous live. Though his disability is chronic, he never shows it. Due to his condition, he has to wear clothes for 18 hours a day- thankfully, with a little altering, the toddler clothes at Target fit him perfectly! All his food is hand made, his medication closely monitored, and how much exercise he gets as well- but his parents wouldn’t have it any other way!

Now that he is strong enough to go longer periods of walking, he is in training to become a certified Therapy Dog, to hopefully one day join his mom in the museum industry. He’s going to be an amazing ambassador for disabled dogs, showing that, just like disabled people (like his mom!), everyone deserves love and kindness. It also helps when you have a cute smile and spin when you’re happy!

His parents get a lot of questions why they picked him. Truthfully, they were not expecting to leave with a dog that day, just planning on a visit- they didn’t even have a leash. When Gregor came in to meet them, he snuggled up in him mom’s lap, and when the care team came in, he ran between his parents and didn’t want to leave. Needless to say, Gregor had picked his family.

He was always meant to be ours, he just took a few years to get to us.
