Pet's Story or Bio
This is Sophia that we adopted from the Norfolk SPCA. She was only 17 weeks when a Norfolk Police Officer found her on the side of the road. Her right leg was not healed correctly after it was thought she had been hit by a car. My husband and I went in looking for a new rescue after losing our beloved Roxy…who had also been adopted from there in 2005. We had a 10 yr old dog who we couldn’t find a fit for, but before we left I just happened to ask if they had any puppies. I was told there was one with special needs and she was kept in the back. After getting a quick peak at her, I did not hesitate a second and waited outside to have her brought to us. As soon as she was put in my arms, I knew she was extra special. We took her home that day. We brought her back, had her leg amputated, as you can see, and she was officially ours. It was not long until I noticed something wrong with her remaining front leg. Come to find out, she had a small fracture and I took her straight away to have a plate put in. If Sophia had four legs, I don’t think I could catch her….she is so fast! What a character she is! She is my constant shadow. We took in a 10 yr old pit bull, Molly, with dwarfism and they are quite a pair. Sophia is pure love and even at 4 has a permanent case of the zoomies. 😁. I cannot imagine a life without her. I am blessed she was saved so I can love her all her life.
