Fall Cross Country Endeavors

Photo Description
A horse and rider canter down the hillside to approach their next jump in the cross country portion of the Sundance Farms Horse Trial in Plymouth, Wisconsin. Fall came late in Wisconsin, so only a few leaves were starting to turn at this time. However, the gorgeous view of the horses with that little pop of color was perfection. Photographed on assignment for Claire Mulder Photography.

Why is this photo special?
This was my first time assisting another photographer with photographing a horse trial. I was nervous, and I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to get THE shots. This photo is special because even though it was too early for most of the fall colors and it doesn't include a jump, the lighting and the horse coming down the hillside while being framed by leaves just takes my breath away. It was my first time truly experiencing cross country, and I loved every minute of it. This is also by far one of the best photos that I have ever taken.
