Operation Freedom Paws Canada, in partnership with Pauliina Saarinen Photography, welcomes you to the Vancouver Island Dogs 2023 Calendar Contest. All proceeds from this photo contest and the sale of the calendar go to Operation Freedom Paws Canada Service Dog Program. OFP Canada matches rescue dogs with human partners who are living with a disability and provides the dog-handler teams with support, training and guidance for a minimum of 48 weeks. At the end of their training, the dog-handler teams certify as Service Dog Teams under the BC Guide Dog and Service Dog Act. OFP Canada is looking to build a permanent training facility in Fanny Bay on Vancouver Island.

To enter the contest, submit a photo of your dog with a $10 donation and start collecting votes for your entrant. Votes are $1/vote ($5 minimum). Share the link provided with your family and friends to gather more votes for your favourite contestant. Please review the Contest Rules carefully for submission guidelines.

• A 2-night stay in a Main Floor Triplex Cabin at Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino AND
• ONE YEAR SUPPLY (12 bags) of Canadian NUTRAM dog food (your choice of recipes and bag sizes) AND
• A gift basket of assorted dog supplies, toys and treats donated by Qualicum Pet Foods.

The 2^nd – 13^th place winners (determined by the number of overall votes) will be featured as the dog of the month in the Vancouver Island Dogs 2023 Calendar AND they also win THREE MONTHS' SUPPLY (3 bags) of Canadian NUTRAM dog food (your choice of recipes and bag sizes).


Each week of the 6-week contest, the Vancouver Island dog with the most NEW VOTES accumulated during the week  will win a Mini-Contest prize package.  There are also local prizes for the top-voted dogs in specific localities on Vancouver Island every week. Prizes will be announced in a newsletter and social media posts for each week. The six Weekly Mini-Competitions run from Sunday 9 am PST to the following Sunday at 8:59:59 am PST, except in Week 6 when the weekly contest ends with the Calendar Contest at 8:59:59 pm on June 12th, 2022. Local prizes are redeemed at the place of the donating business. 


Celebrate your dog's birthday, adoption day or honor your dog in memoriam by reserving a date for their photo in the calendar. Choose your favorite photo, select a date, and submit a $20 donation to reserve a date square in the calendar grid. They will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
