Gratitude.

This was taken at Point Farms Prov. Park, the last night I spent with my father before his passing, a month to the day later. It was the first and last time he got to camp with my young daughter and I'm forever grateful we had that time, as he was dealing with chemotherapy treatments that put the trip in jeopardy.

A lot of things come together here. He worked in long term care for many years, eventually convincing me during the pandemic, when the restaurant my wife and I were running shut down, to come work in the kitchen as they were shorthanded. I work in LTC to this day.

He had bought the camera I still use, which took the photo above and all the images seen on my social media, allowing me to use it all these years, learning and improving my craft.

And finally, it all comes together that I was asked to submit a photo here, which happens to run through the first anniversary of his passing.

So here's to being grateful for what you have and are given.
