Oregon Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is also a no-kill shelter, so the dogs stay at the facility until they find their families. The group was started in 2007 by two women who, at the time, had 12 years of combined rescue experience. Our dogs come from overcrowded local shelters, owners who can no longer keep their dogs (following an evaluation), and from high-kill shelters all over the West Coast. Our facility is in Tualatin and can accommodate up to 75 dogs at a time. We have a small staff consisting of 6 full-time employees, 12 part-time employees and a core group of 25 volunteers that assist in keeping the facility clean, dogs cared-for and facilitate intake of up to 200 dogs per month.

In 2024 Oregon Dog Rescue will make the leap from our 3,500 sq ft facility in Tualatin to a 12,000 sq ft facility in Portland, Oregon. We anticipate being able to place over 3,000 dogs a year in our new home!
