Eligibility
The Oregon Humane Society Beer Label Photo Contest (the Contest) is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least sixteen (16) years old at the time of entry. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Winners will be determined based on the number of votes raised by their entry. All donations must be made online and directly to your entry to be counted towards your fundraising total. All donations to the Contest are final. To join the Contest, you must create an entry on the fundraiser website.
The three Grand Prize winners and three Finalists will be posted to the homepage of this website on Monday, August 4th. The winners will also be contacted directly by Oregon Humane Society if it is necessary to make arrangements for submitting any additional photos or materials.
Employees and Board Members of OHS may enter a photo but are not eligible to win prizes with a retail sales value.
All votes are donations to OHS and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law.
All taxes on prizes, including but not limited to federal, state, and local taxes, are the responsibility of the winners. Please consult your tax adviser for additional information. OHS may, at its sole discretion, choose to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or exchangeable.
Photo Rules and Image Requirements for Eligibility
Once entered, photos become the property of OHS which may, at its discretion, copy, edit, publish, or modify entries for use in any and all media, without limitation or compensation to the photographer or the individuals and pets appearing in the photo. The submitter of the photo does not relinquish rights to use the photo.
Photos must meet the image requirements described below. If appropriate photos are not provided as part of the Contest, OHS will contact you to provide a selection of 3-4 additional photos by Thursday, July 31. If an acceptable photo is not received, OHS reserves the right to offer the winning place to the next eligible contestant.
For a winning photo to appear on the OHS beer label, the photo must be of high resolution (at least 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels or 3MB is preferred) and depict the animal in a loving, humane environment as determined by OHS.
Photos can depict any domestic animal. We love seeing animals who have been adopted from OHS living their best lives, so OHS adopters are strongly encouraged to participate. However, your pet does not have to be adopted from OHS to be eligible to enter the Contest.
All photos must be submitted by the photographer who took the photo. OHS cannot accept copyrighted photos unless the owner of the copyright agrees to the usage rights of the OHS Contest.
If photos include pets not owned by the photographer, or people not in the photographer's immediate family, written permission from the pet's owner and/or the individuals photographed allowing for OHS to use their images according to the rules of this contest is required.
Images generated or significantly altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) are not permitted.
All cats or dogs in your photo should be wearing flat collars and tags. Photos of cats or dogs without flat collars and ID tags may be ruled ineligible for inclusion on the beer label.
Alcohol consumption or depiction of alcohol consumption by animals is prohibited and photos with such content will be removed from the Contest site.
The beer label design will include the name of the winning pets. However, if a winning pet has a name that uses offensive or questionable language, or is in contradiction to OHS values, that pet's name will not be printed.
Photos submitted must include only the winning animal (and no other animals or humans). The animal should be present in no less than 2/3 of the frame.
If your vote count places among the top three at the conclusion of the Contest and your photo does not meet these requirements, you will be asked to supply a photo that does meet these requirements. If you are unable to supply any photo that meets these requirements, you will forfeit your prize to the next entry receiving the most votes.
