PAAW Texas is looking for photos of special pets to grace the pages of its 2026 calendar. This photo contest is a meaningful and fun way to celebrate your pet while helping save urgent dogs from euthanasia, who are now waiting for a home of their own. Entry fee is free! However, when you enter and donate $10, you will get 10 votes for free!!
Each vote will be $1. Each $1 donation counts as one vote for that photo.
The thirteen winners (12 months and one cover) with the most votes by midnight (11:59:59 PM Central Time) on Saturday, November 29, 2025 will be featured in the 2026 PAAW calendar.

The Grand Prize winner with the most votes will be featured on the front cover of our 2026 Calendar and will also receive 1 free calendar.
2nd - 13th Place
The 12 entry winners with the next highest votes will be featured inside our 2026 calendar and will each have their own dedicated month.

Reserve a Day to Honor Your PetWant a guaranteed spot in the calendar? For a $10 donation, you can have a date blocked on the calendar with a photo of your pet. This could be his or her birthday, adoption day, or some other day as long as it does not conflict with one of the holidays we observe. Days are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Rules
To Enter:
You must submit a photo of your Pet and include:
- Name of Pet
- Your First Name
- Your City and State
- A paragraph that tells voters something about the pet in the photo. (100 word limit)
All photos must be uploaded. Sorry, we cannot accept hard copies.
Eligible Photographs:
Important: Digital photos only. Photos must be in color, clear, of good quality and high resolution, and able to be printed at a size of 8.5" x 11" without significant loss of quality. If your submission is low resolution or poor quality, you will be asked for a better quality image if your photo is one of the top 13.
- Photo entries should only be pet dogs
- Only one entry per pet.
- Group Photos, Example: if you have multiple dogs, you can enter a group photo of all of them together. But you cannot enter each of their photos separately.
- Photo entries must contain only pets, no humans
- Any image that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by PAAW Texas, or otherwise does not adhere to the rules will be removed from the Calendar Contest.
- Photographs may not be edited or altered (other than minor color, contrast, or sharpness adjustments)
- Photographs must not be from a professional studio or copyrighted

PAAW Texas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for and enhancing the well-being of animals at the Pasadena Animal Shelter and throughout the Pasadena, Texas, community. Comprised of a committed team of volunteers, PAAW Texas focuses on providing critical support for shelter animals through funding for medical treatments, specialized training, enrichment programs, and alternative solutions for urgent cases.
One of our key initiatives is our temporary boarding program, designed to provide a lifeline to dogs on the shelter's urgent list. In partnership with a local boarding facility, we offer a safe and supportive environment for dogs at risk of euthanasia. While not every dog finds a home immediately, our program ensures that these animals receive daily walks, playgroups, enrichment toys, and individual attention—an experience that contrasts with the often overcrowded and stressful shelter environment.
This program has already saved over 47 dogs in just a few short months. However, the cost of boarding is significant, and without continued funding, this life-saving initiative could come to an end.
