Harley's Journey Home

Some dogs come into your life and leave paw prints on your heart forever. Harley is one of those dogs.

Before Harley found his forever home, his journey was filled with disappointment. He had been adopted and returned to the Pasadena Humane Society four different times. Each return left him wondering why he wasn't enough. Yet through it all, Harley never lost his gentle spirit, loving heart, or trust in people.

I work in Pasadena, and one day I stopped by the Humane Society. The moment I saw Harley, something special happened. There was an immediate connection. Looking into his eyes, I could see a loyal and intelligent dog who simply needed someone willing to give him a chance. I knew he belonged with us.

Bringing Harley home turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made. He quickly showed us how loving, smart, and devoted he truly is. Every day, Harley comes to work with me, where he has become a beloved member of our team. Employees, students, and visitors all know him by name. His tail wags brighten difficult days, and his friendly personality has earned him the title of our unofficial mascot.

Harley didn't need to be changed or fixed. He simply needed the right home—one filled with patience, understanding, and love. In return, he has given us far more than we could have imagined. He has brought joy, laughter, companionship, and unconditional love into our lives.
