A little about me...
Hello! WAHHHHHH!!! That's my favorite sound. I am Parrot, a 51 year-old male Double Yellow Head Amazon parrot. I lost my human Mom to COVID just after Christmas in 2020 and have been displaced to Pomona by the Eaton Fire. My human sister takes care of me now, so I'm lucky - I've stayed in the same family and house (except for the displaced issue). Like all amazons, I'm tough and will make it!

I am getting older and arthritis is setting in. I fall off the perch sometimes...well, maybe most times especially at night. My sister Mom, I call her Spunky (after one of the Chow-Chows that we used to have) has put some plexiglass in my cage to create a new faux bottom and has put some one-inch foam at the bottom covered with a towel. That way when I fall, I don't break anything. It is a pretty soft landing and a short drop. Spunky keeps me fully flighted, so I can slow my fall too!

I just learned to say the name of my step-sister, Becca - she's a furry family member. I just haven't trained her to come when I call. But, I'm still working on it! I also say many other things too. Some of my favorites are: are we going to have dinner now?, Mom!, Mother!, Spunky, Bear, Bye-Bye, Happy Bird Day, Chester (my feathered sister), I wanna eat now, and help the parrot. I also love singing scales and opera.
