PATH SHELTER'S 8th Annual TATTOO ME FUNDRAISER

It is time again for the PATH Shelter's TATTOO ME fund raiser.
Ty Rettke has gotten lucky the last 7 times. Will his luck continue, or will he get stuck with something truly awful?

  • The first winner was a Unicorn Ballerina (Charlie).
  • The second was a classic "Heart with an Arrow through it" only instead of "MOM" It says, "Your Mom".
  • The third winner was an alien dressed as a leprechaun, holding an Arnold Palmer drink being beamed up by a spaceship.
  • The fourth was a BEAUTIFUL Gyotaku print of a squid by local artist Rae Walton.
  • The fifth, many would argue is the most fitting, a lower back (Or "Bumper Sticker") of the New York Cafe's Logo.
  • The sixth, much to his mother's dismay, was a portrait of Austin Otos, local politician and generally good sport, drawn in a very ... unique... style by Spencer Barr.
  • The seventh was a portrait of the winner - Jake Hargis.

Will this be the year that someone's face makes its way to Ty's body?? A spelling error? A tramp stamp? One of his Friend's faces?

Enter your own idea or vote for one of those already submitted. The one with the most vote donations will be the one that gets permanently tattooed on Ty!

Rules
Rules for PATH SHELTER'S 5th Annual Tattoo Fundraiser:

  1. The winning tattoo idea submission will be tattooed on the PATH Shelter's Executive Director, Ty Rettke. The Winning tattoo idea will be the one with the most votes, each vote is equal to a $1.00 donation.
  2. The tattoo ideas must not contain nudity, profanity, vulgarity, hate speech/racial slurs, or threat of violence.*
  3. Tattoos that reference a family member of Ty are subject to approval (of Ty and the Family member). (He signed up for this, his family did not)*
  4. Ty will be picking the location of the tattoo on his own body, but people are encouraged to suggest a spot when submitting the tattoo idea, especially if the location is important to the "joke" of the tattoo (if there is one.) The tattoo must be able to fit roughly in the area of 4”x4” .  (Can be longer and narrower, and might be enlarged to allow room for the artist needed space to work. )
  5. The tattoo can be color or black ink.
  6. The tattoo will be done by the artist of Ty's choice, at the convenience of the artists' schedule.
*All decisions about what constitutes any of these things is up to Ty.*

About Us
The PATH Shelter is a homeless shelter in the small Alaskan town of Ketchikan. It is a place for people experiencing temporary homelessness to resituate themselves and regain their footing. We provide a safe, warm place for people to get in out of the weather, do laundry, prepare food and relax from the day. We are open 365 days a year and open to individuals and families when needed. We have been serving those most vulnerable in our community since 1988.

A safe, warm space is important anywhere, but especially in Ketchikan, Alaska which is one of the rainiest cities in North America, with an average annual rainfall of 13 feet. Ketchikan also sees it's fair share of snow in the winter, and heavy storms through out the fall and spring. We are a small community of less than 15,000 and isolated on an island with no access off except by ferry or airplane. Getting stuck here is especially problematic as the costs to get here or leave here are so high. This is one more reason our program is so important.
