Logan—aka Fluffy McFluffy Pants—was my senior foster WIN.

When he first arrived at my house, he was about 12 years old, skinny, missing patches of fur (even on his tail), and had broken, rotted teeth. He looked rough. But with veterinary care, good food, supplements, and a lot of love, his health—and his magnificent coat—came back.

Even as a senior, he was bright, mischievous, and full of personality. He opened the freezer drawer and helped himself. He raided the pantry. He chewed blinds and chairs without even having all his teeth. I truly wish I could have known him as a young dog.

He was also a little spicy. At physical therapy, he walked on the underwater treadmill to build muscle—but only I was allowed to dry him afterward. Anyone else got yelled at.

We took lots of short walks and easy hikes together. This photo was taken during a trip to New Mexico. He brought me so much joy.

Logan was proof that senior dogs are worth a chance. They are not “too old.” They are not “less adoptable.” They still have life to live and so much love to give. Also, he gave THE BEST hugs.
