2026 will be here before you know it and we need help choosing the next theme! Last year's logo contest gave artists a chance to submit for the chance to have their work featured on all things Paws on Parade 2025, and it was so much fun including the whole community that we want to do it again! We'll feature the winning logo on EVERYTHING during the 2026 campaign—posters, t-shirts, and ALL marketing assets. Here’s how it works:
Artists are able to contribute by designing and submitting a logo that encompasses the spirit of Bangor Humane Society and makes a dog central to the theme. This can be created using any medium (graphic design, painting, etc.) as long as it can be reproduced for print.
Each entry is free and artists may submit as many unique works as they like.
Public voting starts as soon as submissions roll in. Each vote costs $2. You may vote as many times as you like.
Online voting will end at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, October 3, 2025 and the Top Ten will be determined. If your work has been selected as one of the Top Ten, you will be contacted and invited to Paws on Parade for the final round of in-person voting. The top 10 logos will be brought to Paws on Parade 2025 and displayed for in person voting on Saturday October 4th, 2025 at the Bangor Waterfront.
Each Paws on Parade registration will include ONE ticket to be used at the event to cast an in-person vote for the best logo. Additional tickets for in-person voting will be available for purchase at the event. These tickets can ONLY be used to vote in person and are not transferable to online voting. To register for the event, please visit

All votes will be counted during the "Parade" portion of Paws on Parade and the winner of the logo contest will be announced LIVE at the end of the event. All artists are encouraged to attend the event but need not be present at Paws on Parade 2025 to win or receive prizes. The winning logo and theme will become the property of Bangor Humane Society and will be used for all applicable marketing efforts for Paws on Parade 2026 (see prizes below).
Prizes
The winner will be announced LIVE at Paws on Parade 2025 on October 4, 2025. Artists are strongly encouraged to be present at the event to receive their winnings, which includes: having their artwork centrally featured on our 2026 event t-shirts, posters, banners, social media posts (totaling nearly 50,000 followers across multiple platforms), and advertising elements used to promote our event to the greater Bangor area. The winner will also receive a gift basket, a $100 cash prize, and FULL BRAGGING RIGHTS!
Rules
Participants may enter as many unique works of art as they wish. There is no age limit to enter this contest.
The logo should in some way contain a dog. Cats are allowed in the design as well, but a dog must be the primary focus of the logo.
- Any theme or idea can be used. Previous year themes include, but are not limited to:
- No explicit, inappropriate, or suggestive content may be submitted. Content violations will be removed from the contest at the sole discretion of Bangor Humane Society and will be ineligible for additional submissions or contest prizes.
- Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
- All imagery used must be original art work and be able to be reproduced for print.
If you are selected as one of the 10 finalists, you agree to the limited reproduction of your art work for the purposes of display for live voting at Paws on Parade 2025. Each Top Ten artist is encouraged to be present for the awards ceremony and announcement of the winner of the logo contest. Paws on Parade is October 4 and the Top Ten finalists will be notified by end of business on Wednesday, October 1. IF WE ARE UNABLE TO REACH THE TOP TEN WINNERS BY PHONE OR EMAIL WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE CLOSE OF VOTING, WE WILL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ARTIST IN LINE BASED ON QUANTITY OF VOTES.
By submitting your artwork you agree that:
Bangor Humane Society has made no guarantees of prizes or compensation.
Bangor Humane Society has your permission to reproduce your artwork as outlined in the Rules of this Contest.
Within 24 hours of online voting closing, Bangor Humane Society will need your written or verbal permission to move forward in the voting process. If we have not spoken to you in person, by phone, or received electronic communication from you by end of business on Thursday, October 2, we will select another artist as one of the Top Ten.
