I can't say all that is great about Luke in 150 words. I love him a lot. Luke is a big ham for affection and even though he is the biggest pet here, he is the easiest going and even puts up with cats trying to bathe him. Luke is also a huge fan of Dr. Joe at West Central Vet. I found Luke on Hwy 59 ten years ago. He was laying calmly on the side of the HWY. It was a day of many miracles that made things work out for Luke and I to get together. Luke had 2 broken legs and just when I was walking up to see him, the Parke County Sheriff pulled up. Luke is a big boy and I wouldn't have been able to get him in the car by myself so the Sheriff made it all possible. We got to West Central Vet. just before they closed. The next day was surgery time. Luke had all kinds of repair work done (pins, plates, and maybe even some duck tape) & of course he was neutered. He was 60 lbs. back then (normal weight is now 88 lbs) and covered in ticks. The veterinarians were hoping to help Luke have at least 3 legs to live on but 10 years later he's doing pretty well with all four. I named him after the movie "Cool Hand Luke" because when I met him, the odds were against him but it turned out great...like when Paul Newman says in the movie "sometimes nothin' is a really cool hand"
