About Us

Women’s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI) is a Canadian and U.S. charitable foundation established in 2012 to combat brain-aging disorders that disproportionately affect women. Almost 70% of Alzheimer's sufferers are women. We can't ignore a number this big.

WBHI focuses its resources on research that better suits women's needs, and by creating compelling preventative health education programs, grounded in science, so there is a greater understanding by the public of the best ways to keep their brain functioning the way that they want.

WBHI is a trusted resource for evidence-based information on the lifestyle choices necessary to keep your brain functioning properly. Science tells us that the earlier in life that you start to take care of your brain, the healthier you and your brain will be. Our newest initiative is Brainable, a free program to teach students about the best ways to protect their brain health.

Women’s Brain Health Initiative's Young Person's Cabinet (YPC) has created PetPix, a donate-to-vote fundraiser. All proceeds raised from this pet photo contest support Brainable.
