Pet's Story
Millie’s story began in a construction zone in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she was found alone by a kind woman named Laura. The very next day, Laura and my mom happened to meet on the beach while caring for the small puppy, who was then named Lola. Over the next two weeks, they took turns feeding her, watching over her, and making sure she was safe.

As the trip came to an end, my parents realized they couldn’t leave her behind. After much thought, they decided to bring her home to Canada and give her the loving family she deserved.

Laura had been in Puerto Vallarta celebrating her mom Millie’s 80th birthday when she found the puppy. In honour of her and her kindness we changed the puppies name from Lola to Millie and without her compassion, Millie’s story might have been very different.

Millie’s journey was remarkable. In just a few weeks, she went from wandering through sand and construction sites under the Mexican sun to experiencing her first Canadian winter. What surprised us most was how much she loved the snow. She raced through it with excitement, as if she had been waiting for it her whole life.

What started as a chance encounter on a beach became the beginning of a new chapter filled with love, safety, and a place to call home.
