Fundraiser Rules
- The fundraiser opens at 9:00 AM (Central Time) on Monday, June 1, 2026. The fundraiser closes at noon (12:00 PM Central Time) on Friday, June 19, 2026. All fundraising must occur within these dates.
- This fundraiser is open to any eligible animal, they do not have to be an alumni of WHS. Eligible animals include:
- Dogs and cats
- Rabbits
- Birds (common pet species such as dove, canary and finch, cockatiel, lovebird, budgies, conure, quaker parrot)
- Ferrets, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, and chinchillas
- You must be 18+ years of age to participate. This includes both submitting an entry and fundraising.
- Participants must be residents of Manitoba. Voters from outside of Manitoba & Canada are welcomed and eligible.
- Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated. Promotions where bonus votes can be awarded will be announced on the fundraising website.
- Those who donate $18.00 or more will receive a tax receipt. Tax receipts will be sent out within two weeks of receiving your donation.
- If there is a tie the contestants will be put in a draw. The winner of the draw will get to be on the label.
- The four winners will be announced on the homepage of the fundraiser website within three days after the fundraiser closes. The winners will also be contacted directly by the Winnipeg Humane Society to arrange for photo submissions (in addition with the photo already submitted to give the designer options).
- The Winnipeg Humane Society reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content, if an appropriate replacement cannot be submitted. AI generated Images and Stock photos are not eligible to be submitted in the fundraiser. If an entry is disqualified, donations collected will be refunded if requested by the donor.
- By agreeing to the waiver when you enter the fundraiser, you acknowledge and give permission to the Winnipeg Humane Society and Good Neighbour Brewing to use the name, story, and photo of the animal entered in future publications, promotions, and materials.
Image and Name Requirements for Winners
- All winners must provide a selection of three to four photos of their pet by a specified amount of time after the fundraiser ends. Photos must meet the image requirements outlined below. If appropriate photos are not provided by the deadline, the Winnipeg Humane Society will offer the winning place to the next eligible contestant.
- Winners must own the rights to the photos they provide (photos taken by professional photographers that have not given written permission are not eligible).
- Photos must be high quality and resolution, include only the winning animal (no other animals or humans), and the animal should occupy no less than 2/3 of the frame.
- Ensure that the photo is sharp and in focus with a clean background.
- No images in conflict with Winnipeg Humane Society policies or procedures can be accepted, e.g. no animals can appear to be in distress. If a photo is deemed ineligible, the winning contestant will have five days to submit new photos. If a usable photo cannot be produced, the label will go to the next eligible contestant.
