Jolene is a 2 year old mastiff/husky mix rescued by Winnipeg Giant Breed Rescue near Brandon, Manitoba this past winter.
We adopted her in mid-April. 🐾

She was a stray who had already given birth to two litters when she was just a one year old puppy herself. They named her 'Xena' for her strong and resilient "warrior" litter that she was rescued with.

We ended up calling her 'Jolene' once we adopted her, and yes, I often sing parts of the Dolly Parton song to her. 🎶

My nickname for her immediately became 'Jelly Bean'! 🫘

Jolene is now part of our family, alongside another rescue dog and two rescue cats.
She is such a sweet girl who is always looking to be showered with affection, loves getting visits from her friends and family, and wants to be included in everything, even if those things don't necessarily require dog assistance!

Jolene seems to be part mastiff and part husky, but that is just our guess. What we do know is that she is a big sweet baby who likes to have things her way and be told by everyone how pretty she is whenever she is around! ♥️
