Pet's Story
Morty was adopted from the Winnipeg Humane Society in November 2020 and became our first family pet. When picking his name, it was inspired by a book my mom wrote in 1975 called “Morty - The Rabbit Nobody Cared About”.

When you stop to think of the storyline and compare it to Morty’s life story, they start off the same - a rabbit that nobody cared about (surrendered to the WHS). But we changed our Morty’s ending! Now, our Morty (who actually looks very similar to the original Morty the Rabbit) is loved by everyone he meets.

Although weighing only 4lbs, Morty has the biggest personality. He is extremely smart, sweet as can be, and is a stickler for routine. Seriously, don’t piss him off otherwise you’ll know about it.

My dad is Morty’s best friend - you know, “the pet dad’s never wanted”. Well, Morty is my dad’s lock screen and shows it off to everyone he meets… so I think the feeling is mutual.

Even after 6 years, we still find literally every single thing he does SO cute. He can’t flop, yawn, sit, stretch, drink water, or simply exist without us either laughing or admiring everything he does.
