Pointer Rescue Organization (PRO) is a 100% volunteer-run, nonprofit group dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of purebred Pointers (sometimes called English or American Field Pointers) across the United States. Founded on a passion for this loyal and loving breed, PRO works tirelessly to ensure that Pointers in need—whether from shelters or stray situations—receive the second chance they deserve.
We don’t operate a central shelter. Instead, our strength lies in a nationwide network of compassionate volunteers who foster dogs, transport them across state lines, screen adopters, and support our mission every step of the way. Every dog in our care receives veterinary attention, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, and any necessary medical treatment before adoption. PRO takes in dogs regardless of health status or age and, recognizing that no dog should die alone in a shelter, provides a foster/hospice program for dogs who are too ill to be adopted.
