Hi,

I'm Merlin. Let me tell you my story. I was born November 28, 2023. My life started like many other puppies. I had an owner who cared about me and took care of me.

Then something tragic happened. One day my owner went to sleep (at least that's what I thought happened) but he never woke up. For 4 days I was alone with him...waiting for him to wake up to play with me and feed me. I stayed next to him. I was getting hungry and thirsty. I didn't know what was happening. One day people came into the house. I had never met them before. They took me away from my human.

I went to a place that was very noisy and full of dogs that barked. I was scared. I was only a few months old and already in my life I had no idea where my human was or where I was now. I heard the word died a lot. I didn't know what it meant. (I later learned that's what happened to my human). It meant I wasn't going back to the home I knew. I was scared. I was less than 5 months old, and I had no idea what was going to happen to me.

I got picked up by these wonderful people that worked at this place called Polka Dogz. I heard from the other dogs in the yard that they are looking for new humans for us. I was excited. I knew it meant I would have a loving home again.

A few weeks went by, and I was told people were coming to meet me. I was so happy. When I saw them for the first time I ran up to them in the office and gave them kisses. I think I won them over. They ended up taking me to my new home. When we arrived, I found out I was going to have two brothers and a sister. I met Jagger, Saadie, and Brody. Jagger and I hit off from the start. We ran and played. We love to cuddle. Brody and I have a common bond too. We both loved to be outside. And we had a large yard to run in and a pool to play in. My humans even bought me a large patio umbrella because I love to sit on this bench, but it wasn't in the shade. Saadie was older and didn't really like to play anymore, but she still loved me, and I would follow her all over the house. Saadie passed away earlier this year. I missed her a lot and would look for her. Recently, Minnie joined our family. Minnie and I love to play together too.

And what can I say about my humans. They definitely love me. The made sure I had tons of toys and I'm happy. We pups are given a Disney character. Mine is Goofy (fitting I know). We get our characters in stuffed animals, blankets, and other toys. I got to go back to Polka Dogz last December to show everyone how great I'm doing. I also wanted to let the other dogs know that it's true...Polka Dogz does find us amazing homes. I am proof. I went from not having anyone to having a family that loves me, takes care of me, and would do anything to know that I am their everything.
