All funds raised will be contributed to the Poplar Grove Aviation Education Association for the 2022 scholarships. No monetary or materialistic prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The top 12 dogs with the most funds raised will be placed inside the calendar, each getting their own month.

Every year the Vintage Wings & Wheels Museum at Poplar Grove Airport (C77) awards a series of scholarships aimed at helping youth pursue their careers both in aviation and automotive industries. This calendar contest idea was set up to raise funds specifically for the Poplar Grove Aviation Education Association. We have a genuinely unique community here at C77 filled with amazing heartfelt people, cool airplanes, and of course some really cute dogs. The inspiration behind this shoot was the famous Colonel Pete, a Basset Hound owned by Jason and Karice Stern who have 2 airplanes here on the field. Colonel Pete can be seen almost daily running majestically around the hangars and fields of the airport. Almost everyone knows him and many suggestions over the years have been made that a calendar be made! We are so excited to be creating this first one with the wonderful (and pretty photogenic) array of dogs and their owner’s aircrafts.

Flying Hearts Photography was the small, up and coming photo business behind these images. Owner, Dani Slater, is a resident and student pilot at C77 with the biggest passion for aviation and animals. She hopes you enjoy these images as much as she has!
