Rules

Thank you for participating in our Portraits of Purpose! Every dollar raised helps provide food, shelter, medical care, and second chances for the animals at the Humane Society of Macomb.

• Submit a favorite photo of your pet through our GoGo Photo Contest page.
• No entry fee is required to enter!
• Friends and family can vote for your pet by making a donation through the contest website.
• Each $1 donated equals one vote.
• There is no limit to the number of votes a pet may receive.
  
  

• The 13 pets receiving the highest number of votes at the end of the contest will be featured in our upcoming Humane Society of Macomb calendar.
• The pet receiving the most votes overall will be featured on the cover of the calendar.
• Winning photos must be high-resolution. If the submitted image is not suitable for printing, the Humane Society of Macomb may request a replacement photo.
• All photos with 50 votes or more will be featured in a grid pattern at the end of the 2027 calendar.
  
  

• Clearly feature your pet.
• Are high quality, in focus, and well lit.
• Show pets in a safe and humane environment.
• Do not contain offensive or inappropriate content.
• Do not include humans in the photo.
• Do not include watermarks, logos, or text overlays.
• Do not use professional photos unless you have written permission from the photographer.

The Humane Society of Macomb reserves the right to decline any photo that does not meet these guidelines.

• Pets do not need to be adopted from the Humane Society of Macomb to participate.
• Multiple pets may be entered, but it’s recommended to focus on only one if possible.
• The shelter reserves the right to substitute another winning pet if a winner does not respond by a certain deadline.
• Employees and volunteers are welcome to participate.
  
  

• Calendar month placement will be determined by the Humane Society of Macomb unless otherwise specified. Winners may get to choose their month.
• The Humane Society reserves the right to edit, crop, or adjust submitted images for calendar formatting.
• Winners agree that their pet's photo may be used in promotional materials related to the fundraiser.
  
  

• All votes are considered charitable donations and are non-refundable.
• Donations directly support the animals in our care.
  
  

• Entry Opens: 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, August 3, 2026
• Entry Closes: noon (12:00 PM Eastern Time) on Monday, September 7, 2026
• Voting Opens: 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, August 24, 2026
• Voting Closes: noon (12:00 PM Eastern Time) on Monday, September 7, 2026
• Winners Announced: September 7th, 2026 - 6:00 pm
