"BC" was adopted from the Potter Shelter 12 years ago. She had been turned in for "stealing off kitchen counters". We sorted that problem with some training with a serious water pistol (!) and treats when she responded correctly to the commands "No" and "Down". She survived a mauling by a dog a couple of years ago but despite her age has not really slowed down.

I would be naïve to think she doesn't have her way when I am not home. Occasionally as I come through the front door you can hear a hurried "thump" from the kitchen as she lands herself on the floor asap. The odd paw print on the polished counter is another clue. But when home - she would never dream of breaking training in your presence - though the counter top is still of interest......
