Contest Entry & Photo Requirements
- Entry & Voting Period: February 1 at 8:00 a.m. – March 2 at 5:00 p.m.
- Entry fee is $10 per photo. Each entry must include your pet’s name, your contact information, location, and a short description/story. (For winning entries, this text may be used in the calendar.)
- Photos must be submitted electronically through the contest website and be clear, in color, and high resolution (300 dpi recommended; JPG/PNG; max 5MB). Hard copies are not accepted.
- Eligible entries include cats, dogs, horses, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Photos may include more than one pet. Pets do not need to be adopted from the Potter League to enter.
- Photos must include pets only (no people or wildlife). Entrant must own the photo or have permission to submit it. Professional photos are welcome with photographer permission; photos with visible watermarks may not be submitted without authorization.
- Submitted photos must be your original work, or you must have permission to submit them. Professional photos are allowed with photographer permission. Photos with visible watermarks may not be submitted without authorization.
- The Potter League reserves the right to remove or decline any entry for any reason, including images showing profanity, unsafe situations, or animals in distress. If an entry is declined, the entrant will be notified and the entry fee will be refunded.
- Submitted photos may be shared on the Potter League’s website, social media, and promotional materials without compensation.
Voting
- $1 = 1 vote, with a $5 minimum donation per voting transaction.
- Voting opens when the first photo entry is submitted and closes on March 2 at 5:00 p.m.
- Votes may be applied at any time before voting closes.
- All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and are non-refundable.
- An email address is required to receive a donation receipt.
Winners, Calendar Photos & Photo Shoot Requirement
- The top 12 vote-getters will be notified by the Potter League for Animals following the close of voting on March 2.
- Featured calendar images are created through a professional photo shoot for the 12 winners (submitted entry photos are not typically used for featured month images). Photo sessions will take place at the Potter League or a mutually agreed-upon location and must occur by July 1, 2026.
- If a winning pet lives outside the Potter League’s service area, we will work together to determine the best possible solution.
- In limited situations, a submitted image may be considered for publication if the photographer has granted permission and the image aligns with Potter League calendar style and design standards.
Memorial Entries
- Memorial entries are welcome. These entries may require additional review and may be subject to additional guidelines (including image quality and layout considerations). We will work with you to achieve the best possible way to honor your pet.
