I took this photo at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. You are looking at the Tennessee River. The heron was chilling out on a broken picnic table that had washed into the river. The other two fishermen were a bonus I saw after the photo was taken. Fir the most part, Point Mallard is a tidy, manicured (too much so!) place. Nature thrives when man's heavy hand is lifted, usually through neglect. I love the monochromatic nature of this photo
