Maverick makes the best out of each situation he is in. He was happy during his time at the Santa Maria Humane Society and loves life in his furrever home.

As a spokesdog he would like to draw attention to a scary issue. Xylitol poisoning. A couple months after being adopted, Maverick ate a bottle of melatonin pills which contained deadly (for dogs) xylitol. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener used in many sugar free gums, peanut butters, and other common human products. He is a survivor of xylitol poisoning. Maverick would like every dog owner to check labels to save dogs.
