About My Pet
Ernie, a polydactyl, was rescued as a kitten and adopted through the Pet Adoption Network. Polydactyls are cats with six toes and often called, “Hemingway Cats” due to Ernest Hemingway’s beloved cat, Snowball. My father Jack was an expert on Hemingway’s writing, so when I met this kitten shortly after Dad’s passing, I felt it was a sign that there was a new story to be told. Ernie brings our family joy and entertainment every day, just like my Dad when he was here.
