Rockbridge Animal Alliance, a dedicated all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization established in 2014, empowers low-income pet owners residing in Rockbridge County, and the cities of Buena Vista, and Lexington, Virginia. Our mission is to keep pets and families together by ensuring access to food and essential medical care. We strive to prevent any dog or cat from going hungry or without basic medical attention. By meeting these needs, we aim to reduce the number of pets suffering and potentially being surrendered to shelters for euthanasia.
Making a difference in our community is why we exist. We are filling a critical need with a measurable impact in our area. We operate the only Pet Pantry and the only spay/neuter, and medical support group available for dogs—roles crucial to controlling the pet population and keeping beloved pets from being surrendered to shelters because of a lack of family resources.
We are a niche community service in the area's animal welfare network. Our volunteers work tirelessly to deliver vital services that no one else is providing yet are much needed. Rockbridge Animal Alliance is inspired by the idea that feeding and caring for our pets feeds our souls. Especially for those with limited resources. Their pets can be a loving friend in a world of struggle.
