Story
The CAN-NC Board of Directors gathered to work on a rocking chair donated by Lee Wiler.
Inspired by the Dutch style of the chair, board members searched Dutch furniture designs for inspiration but it did not take long for individual ideas and designs to emerge. Colors of the chair were based on the colors used in the CAN-NC logo but as one board member stated, “the variety of colors used really represents the variety and diversity of our board,” noting how well the colors of the chair blend just as our board blends so well. So, birds of a feather do indeed flock together. The CAN-NC board is a prime example of how people from different backgrounds and professional roles join or “flock” together to support a common goal or service.
Board members really enjoyed working on the chair and getting to know one another better. It has been a great team building experience and we are thrilled to be able to provide a chair for the “Rock On” Fundraiser to help support CAN-NC and its mission.
We are looking forward to doing it again next year!
