Prizes

All prizes are kindly donated by businesses located in the Greater Calgary area. All winners will be contacted AFTER the competition, starting in mid-April 2024.

The 12 contestants with most votes overall will win the following prizes:

• The calendar cover AND the pet of the month image in Ruff Start 2025 calendar and a free photo session with Silver Hound Studios in the Greater Calgary Region.
• A Red Light Therapy Small Dog Back Piece from Equi Glow Therapeutics ($300 Value)

• A gift certificate from Bridlewood Veterinary Clinic located in Calgary SW. Can be used towards a well-pet checkup, vaccines, or food products ($150 Value)
   

• The pet of the month image in Ruff Start 2025 calendar and a free photo session with Silver Hound Studios in the Greater Calgary Region.
   

All 12 winners will be photographed for the 2025 calendar by Silver Hound Studios. The photography sessions will take place at a mutually agreed location in the Greater Calgary area between May and July 2024. Please note that some travel to the photography location may be required. If the winner is unable to commit to a session between May and July, 2024, the winner will forfeit the winning, and the next top-voted dog will take the dog's spot in the calendar. All winners will have an opportunity to purchase wall art or other photographic products following their calendar session if desired.
 

Each week of the six-week-long contest, the Southern Alberta pet with the most NEW votes will win a Mini-Contest prize package. The current week’s prize will be announced in a newsletter and social media posts on Friday each week. All pets are eligible to compete for these weekly prizes.

In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote-getters of the week to determine that week's winner. In case there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible dogs. Individual weekly mini-contest prize winners will be introduced to the prize donors via email during the first and second week of April so that they may arrange with the business how to redeem their prize. PLEASE NOTE that certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Silver Hound Studios or Ruff Start Rescue Society is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements determined by donating businesses.

Weekly prizes and their winners will be announced in a newsletter which will be sent to the email address you provide with your entry information.

The Weekly Mini-Competitions run from Thursday at 9 am MST to the following Thursday at 8:59:59 am MST.
