As a first time solo dog owner, I told myself I would never get a puppy and I would never get a heeler. Yet, when I saw this pup hiding in the corner of his kennel at SafeHaven Humane Society after all his siblings had been adopted, my ´´never´´ criteria dissolved. Named after Rudy Ruettiger, this underdog has come a long way and continues to grow each day. Evenmoreso, Rudy continues to teach me and those around us about patience, the importance of play, and how change is possible.
