Your Pet's Story or Bio
Peggy Sue was living on the street before being rescued by Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. She found the adoption floor stressful and was living in a loving foster home. I came across her picture on the pet harbor website while searching for a dog for my friend. Love at first sight. I wrote an essay why I would be the best pet parent. That I would walk her 4 times a day, and sing to her. Included photos of my huge fenced shaded yard. I called before our meet and greet and asked if I could bring her home that day. She is a loving, inquisitive, playful dog. A joy to be around. The neighbors love her too. We walk 1/2 a mile every 3 hours. She has squeaky toys we play throw and chase. I had to carry her to bed 92 times In a row saying nigh nigh time, before she learned where her bedroom is. Now about 7:00 pm she will look at me, I’ll say is it nigh nigh time? She will trot to her bedroom and wait to be tucked in. A baby gate secures the door. If I forget to close the gate she comes back out and gives me a look! She’s hybrid potty trained to use pee pads at night in her room. There’s also a square of 4 at the end of the hall. It’s been 2 years and this is the best decision I’ve made since I conceived.
So much love and companionship. Everyday after lunch I lay on the couch and we snuggle for her siesta. Her favorite place is Pinto Lake County park. She always travels in a sturdy crate attached to headrest. 1 year ago my Honda CRV was hit with us in it. Flipped upside down. Without her crate, all that flying glass, she could have been seriously hurt. I bruised my knee on steering column and 6 days later bought a 2018 Honda CRV. I had to put her crate inside with treats to overcome her fear. Now she loves to travel. Peggy Sue
