Your Pet's Story or Bio
We are shelter guys!! I (Lil) was picked for a companion to Johanne , my friend, a blind silkie). I was to be her seeing eye dog. Well, that did not work so well but I am loved anyway. I have the old gal Dez to keep me in line. I think I can bully her but she is 21 # and I am only 6 # so she does have the advantage. I bark a lot but considering that my mistress is 90 years old I think that is important. Sometimes she does not answer the door to callers even though I try my best to alert her. Now Dez is a different story. She sleeps next to our pet mom at night and is quite a good watch cat. Nothing escapes her vigilant sense of movement in the house. We do get locked out occasionally and that is a problem. Eventually someone in the house misses us. Really, how can they not! It is a happy time when that back door opens. We are so important to this house and I can tell the people here have always loved animals. There is even a doggy kennel in the back yard. Of course it is not used by us, no-one has even suggested it. I hope I am not giving pet mom any ideas. I hear some shelter chickens were housed there at one time. I try to be quiet and subdued but I don't think this is my nature. I understand when Dez was younger she was quite the "cat". We have fond memories of the good care the shelter gave us. For both of us it was definitely love at first sight with our new mom. Also you can see we do love one another. This is our favorite perch together as we fit very nicely on top of it. Oh, yes, we respect our sleeping space with my pet mom on her queen size bed. To be expected I burrow under the covers whereas Dez has her place on the pillow. A true love story!
