A little about me...
Dakota was bitten by another dog and was very aggressive with other dogs, especially male dogs. I was trying so hard to rescue or adopt a dog so he would have a friend. He was brought up with his best friend Oscar, the Cathcart mascot. When Oscar got to old and couldn't walk anymore, we had to put him down. After leaving the vets with the blanket we wrapped Oscar in, I threw it on the floor, not thinking, I came back into the house to find Dakota lying on the blanket hyperventilating and tears running down the side of his face, actually cried for the longest time, never seen a dog cry before in my life, broke my heart. I started to help people find homes for their pets that they couldn't keep anymore, regardless of the the reason. I would bring them to my house first to see if there was a bond with any of them with Dakota (takes time and patience) but he would have no part of it. So after a few dog rescues I figured out that the only way to find him a friend is to get him a puppy and had to be female, he was ok with females. So I actually sat him down and said I'm bringing home a puppy and you will like her or else lol so I got Miss Bella, He took her under his paw and protected her and loves her to this day. It's Love.
