Tell us your pet’s story and what makes them ideal to be the Cover Model for the “Pin Up Pups” Calendar Contest
Dutchess was trapped on the side of Rt 15 with 5 pups. We fixed and vetted and found homes for all but her and her brother, Duke. Dutchess was so terrified that we could not even touch her for 4 years. If you managed to touch her, she squealed! She stayed outside, even in snow. She wouldn’t even go in a doghouse. We had a heated kennel pad on her favorite chair on the porch. One day she was so scared of fireworks, she hid under a car and we were able to trap her and get her inside. She now lives the good life. She has come a long way. She still fears people, storms and fireworks, but loves us and our pack of five large rescues. Her brother Duke included, of course…

What is your pet’s favorite thing to do?
Dutchess loves car rides! Especially when they end at Santee state park, and she loves that the trails generally have no people. She struts as if she owns that park! She also loves that before we go there, we go to the diner first for bacon…
