2026 Guide Dog Calendar

The San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB) is excited to announce our First Ever Guide Dog Calendar 2026 Photo Contest!

Funds raised through this contest directly support our programs and services that empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to live with greater independence, confidence, and fulfillment 

Who can participate?
Anyone can enter a photo of their guide dog.
Whether your pup is on duty, at play, or simply showing their personality, we want to celebrate the special bond between guide dogs and their handlers.

When can I enter?
The contest begins September 15, 2025 and ends September 30, 2025 at 7pm PST

Will my dog’s picture be in the calendar?
Yes! Every submitted photo will appear in the calendar’s collage pages. The Grand Prize winner will be featured on the cover, and the top 12 photos will be given a full-month spotlight in the calendar.

Prizes

Top 12 contestants will receive a free photoshoot in San Diego and be featured on a month in the 2026 Guide Dog Calendar (winning contestants from outside of San Diego can use their submission photo for the calendar) 

First Place

Will receive an Amazon gift card for $175 & a gift basket for your furry friend

Second Place

Will receive an amazon gift card for $125

Third Place

Will receive an Amazon gift card for $75


Reserve a Day to Honor Your Pet
Just want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your pet. This can be for your pet's adoption anniversary, birthday, loved one's birthday, memorial or really any special day! Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.

Rules
  1. Eligibility

    • Contest is open to all guide dog owners. Entrants must be 18 years or older to submit a photo.

  2. Photo Submission


    • Submissions open on 9/12 at 9am PST and close on 9/30 at 7pm PST.
    • contestant may submit photos from anywhere in the nation this is not San Diego specific. 
    • You may only enter your own dog—submissions featuring someone else’s pet will not be accepted.

    • Each photo must feature only one dog (no people, no other animals).

    • Photos should be high-quality, clear, and free of watermarks or filters.

    • By submitting, you affirm that you own the rights to the photo.

    • All photos submitted will be in the calendar, the top 12 will have a month feature spot.
  1. Use of Images

    • All submitted photos become the property of the San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB).

    • SDCB reserves the right to use submitted images in print, online, and social media for promotional and fundraising purposes, regardless of contest outcome.

  2. Voting & Selection

    • Voting will take place online. The number of votes each photo receives will help determine placement in the calendar.

    • Final selection and layout decisions are at the sole discretion of SDCB.

  3. Calendar Placement

    • Winning entries will be featured in the official SDCB Dog Calendar.

    • Additional photos may be included in smaller spots (such as collage pages) at SDCB’s discretion.

  4. Conduct

    • Any inappropriate, offensive, or misleading entries will be disqualified.

    • Automated or fraudulent voting is strictly prohibited.

  5. Agreement

    • By entering, participants agree to abide by these rules and release SDCB from any liability related to participation or use of images.
