The Sequoia Parks Conservancy “My Park. My Story.” Photo Contest

Welcome to the Sequoia Parks Conservancy "My Park. My Story." Photo Contest!

We call on everyone with a story, memory, or feeling associated with Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. These parks' beauty and stunning vastness have reached people from all corners of the earth, and we are searching for photos that help tell that story.

National Park Week is 4/22/23-4/30/23

Every April, during the presidentially proclaimed National Park Week, we join our park partners in celebrating and honoring the two parks we call home, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. These two parks have definitely seen their share of challenges throughout the past 4 years. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks have been hit hard, from COVID shutdowns to the devastating KNP Complex Fire, to the recent record-breaking California weather events. But, one thing is for sure, these parks do not waiver. Despite the most challenging times, they continue to inspire, connect, and bond with us. As we start to come out of even more park closures, we at Sequoia Parks Conservancy felt that it was the perfect time to embrace the meaning behind National Park Week and celebrate our two beloved parks in an impactful way. We ask anyone who has taken a photo inside our parks to share it along with your park story. We want to see and hear about the amazing stories that inspire your special connection to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

There will be (4) total winners in 3 categories. (1) Winner from each category will be announced along with a judges panel pick for overall “best in show.”

The categories are:

  1. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park: Professional Photographers

  2. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park: Hobby Photographers

  3. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park: Mobile Phone Photography

With the photographer's information, each winning photo will be printed and displayed inside Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park for up to a year.

Winners will be announced on 5/05/23.

This year, the National Park Service is asking you to share "your park story" about your special connections with places in national parks or communities where they often have programs and partners working. You can follow our stories and theirs on social media using #YourParkStory and consider sharing your own using #MyParkStory.
