Welcome to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society 2020 Photo Contest! The contest is a meaningful way to celebrate your pet while supporting SFAHS. 100% of the proceeds will be used to help our pets in need. Show off your adorable pet while helping the shelter pets awaiting their forever homes at SFAHS. Don't forget to encourage your friends and family to vote for your pet's photo. The top photos with the most votes will receive great prizes! And, with our Judge's Choice category, every entry has a chance to win!

Grand Prize (Top Vote-getter):
Your beloved pet will be part of a specially arranged mini photo shoot* by Bethany Melvin Photography (see samples below) where the pet will be featured on the CALENDAR COVER of SFAHS 2020 calendar. Your pet's photo will
also be featured on the month of your choice within the SFAHS 2020 Calendar.
2nd Through 11th Place Prizes (10 Winners):
The
2nd through 11th photos with the most votes will have their pet will be part of a specially arranged mini photo shoot* by
Bethany Melvin Photography (see samples below) where the pet will be featured as the main photo in one month of the calendar.
Judges Choice (1 Winner):
One entry, independent of vote count, will be chosen by our judges for inclusion in the calendar. This winner will be part of a specially arranged mini photo shoot* by
Bethany Melvin Photography (see samples below) where the pet will be featured as the main photo in one month of the calendar. Every entry has a chance at winning!
*Photo shoots are to be scheduled August 5th - September 30th (preferably between 7:30am-11am). If you are not available during those times or cannot make other arrangements with Bethany at
bethanyb@sfhumanesociety.com. If you cannot come in for a photo, we will use the photo you provided or ask you to provide another suitable photo. The final photos and month assignments (except for the Top Winner) in the calendar will be chosen by th photographer and SFAHS. Mini Photo Sessions will last 5-10 minutes and will take place outdoors, except for cats. No props or costumes will be provided. You must be in the Sioux Falls Area, or willing to travel to Sioux Falls for the photos, at no expense to the SFAHS. You will receive (1) digital copy of the photo that appears in the calendar. No other photos are guaranteed or promised. 1 pet per entry preferred. We cannot guarantee placement in the calendar should you enter a pet that is over the rainbow bridge, due to not being able to fulfill the photo session portrait. We cannot guarantee all pets will be featured in the final month photo if you win, especially if they are different species (ex. cat and a dog).
