The 2026 calendar will focus on the theme Howlin’ Huskies & Northern Breeds  and the inseparable bond they have with their hooomans. Master Wolf of Shadow Husky Rescue, Inc. believes that rescuing and caring for rescue dogs can be the most transformative experience of a lifetime. The vulnerable interaction breaks the vicious cycle of a past history of abuse and neglect and brings rejuvenation, reinvigoration and regained quality of life. When a Husky or Northern breed is feeling relieved from distress and grief, there is a calming inner peace. Once trust is established through love and hands on affection there is a sense of ease which helps Huskies, Northern breeds and owners alike deal with every day minor stress, physical and emotional discomforts. The enduring experienced between a Husky and a Northern breed and their human is the utmost form of happiness on earth. Everyone has a story or two about their Husky and/or Northern breed dog to tell. Your story is IMPORTANT. It has MEANING. We want to read about them and learn about them and see beautiful photos of your fluffy butts. We are HOPING that after the stories are read and shared by viewers for during the contest and while participants share your stories and place $1 bids for the dogs that they love, everyone who reads them and sees their accompanying photos will be delighted while we continue to take care of animals and help others in need.

This annual calendar contest is always our biggest fundraiser of the year! The funds raised from this year's Calendar Contest will help pay down outstanding veterinary bills for 42 dogs which have cost the rescue $55,167 year to date (changing daily) and benefit future rescue dogs. In addition to severe medical cases, as part of daily operations, the rescue oversees and obtains routine rescue veterinary care and has spayed/neutered 18 dogs YTD. As of the start time of the contest there are balances of $9,108.08 with payments due on the SHR credit card and the Care Credit credit card dedicated to the huskies, mixed breeds and northern breed dogs we take care of and rescue.

We continue taking care of sanctuary otherwise unadoptable huskies in addition to ongoing rescue work and rescue missions. The Shadow Husky Rescue, Inc. founders Tim and Elizabeth McVicker work 24/7 at rescuing and placing adoptable huskies into loving homes and providing care for the unadoptable and special needs dogs at the Sanctuary.  They went ahead and used their own personal funds to begin the development of a 6.25+ acre land that they purchased in 2019 located in Warner Springs, North San Diego, California, and have been building a special Sanctuary which will be full of amenities, parks and recreation activities for the huskies and northern breed dogs.  We also have done a lot of behind-the-scenes work, including taking on dogs from abusive situations such as Karma and Tundra both shown on the photograph.

Reserve a day to honor your Husky. For a $10 donation, your dog's photo will appear on the day of your choice (birthday, anniversary, adoption date) if that date is available. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come, first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available. This $10 donation is NOT an entry into the contest. *Every ENTRY into the contest will also receive one calendar day chosen at random after reserved days have been filled. If you pay $15 to enter the contest and $10 to reserve a calendar day during the contest, you will ALSO receive a calendar day selected randomly after the end of the contest.  If you pay $10 to reserve a calendar day now, you will be given the option now to pre-select the calendar day of your choosing.
