Tell us something fun about your dog
Three-year-old Star landed in Rescue because she was gun-shy. Turns out she is also E-collar shy. We decided to foster her and work with the basics because she had been an outside kennel dog since birth. After about a month we decided to keep her whether she became a hunter or not. She is such a sweet dog we just couldn’t part with her. Her tremendous bird drive allowed me to get her past gun shyness but we are still working with her aversion to E-collars. She fits right in with our other four setters and one Mini-Aussi. Star now has the run of the house and sometimes sleeps on my bed. She is fully house trained as are the other five dogs in our home. Her favorite pastime besides birds is chewing on Amber or Ivy’s ears. She is walking at heel without a leash and responds to verbal whoa and recall commands as long as the pigeons are not flying.

Star is a very stylish hunter who runs with a cracking tail and snaps into intense points when she strikes scent. She is our best-behaved dog on car rides – even at drive-up fast-food places. Sometimes we wished the other dogs had her manners.
