Southwest English Setter Rescue (SWESR) is holding our 12th annual online photo contest to raise money to support our efforts on behalf of English Setters throughout the Southwestern USA who need rescue and re-homing.
This contest is free to enter, and we encourage you to enter a favorite photo of your English Setter and a few words about your dog. We welcome photos of all English Setters. Rescued or not, a SWESR alum or not, we want to celebrate the beauty, activity, and goofiness of this marvelous breed and raise money for needed services at the same time!
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 (5 votes) required. Proceeds will benefit Southwest English Setter Rescue to fund the medical expenses of our rescue dogs. SWESR is a designated 501(c)(3) charity, making all donations in the contest tax deductible. New photos are added throughout the contest period, so be sure to check back frequently and vote often for your favorites!
The top 13 vote-getters will be featured in our 2026 SWESR calendar. Photos with 25 or more votes will also be included as calendar date-box pictures throughout the year.
Contest begins 7:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Monday, July 2, 2025 and runs through 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Monday, July 23, 2025.
PRIZES
First Place Prize
The top vote recipient will be featured on the cover of the 2026 SWESR calendar AND will have a full page feature at the back of the calendar with your dog's story and additional pictures you provide after the contest ends.
- a 16x20 digital painting of your pet by Internationally award-winning PPA Master Artist and Master Photographer Danica Barreau, on a gallery wrapped canvas with the image extending seamlessly around the edges for a museum-style finish. It is hang-on-the-wall ready. Danica uses your photographs as references to create beautiful art that you can proudly display in your home. Winner will have the opportunity to decide on a head/shoulders painting or an environmental portrait. Danica's work can be viewed on her website at https://pouka.com.
