Southwest English Setter Rescue (SWESR) is holding our tenth annual online photo contest to raise money and help support our efforts to rescue and re-home English Setters at risk throughout the Southwestern USA. The photos that receive the most votes during the contest will be awarded GREAT prizes, and the top 13 vote-getters will be featured in our SWESR 2024 calendar. Photos with 25 or more votes will also be included as calendar date-box pictures throughout the year

We encourage you to enter the contest with your favorite photo of your English Setter and a few words about your dog. Then invite your family and friends to vote for your photo! The contest is open to anyone and you may enter your photo for FREE. Your photo entry does not have to be of a rescue dog. We welcome photos of all English Setters - beautiful and regal, silly and goofy, naughty and nice, rough and tumble, indoor snuggle bunnies and outdoor adventurers.

Voting is easy and fun and open to everyone. Votes are $1 each. Each dollar donated equals an equivalent number of votes. (A $5 donation equals 5 votes, a $10 donation equals 10 votes, etc.) A minimum donation of $5 is required. Proceeds will benefit Southwest English Setter Rescue and fund the medical expenses of our rescue dogs. SWESR is a designated 501(c)(3) charity, making all donations toward voting in the contest tax deductible. You can vote as often as you like during the contest. You can apply all your votes to one photo or vote for multiple photos during the contest.

For the best chance to win, be sure to spread the word about your dog's entry into the contest. Ask family and friends to go online and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE for your photo. You can use the sharing buttons that appear on your dog's photo page to share your photo entry with your Facebook friends. And you can email links to family and friends to encourage voting for your dog's photo. This will help you receive the votes for your photo(s) while helping us raise donations to support Southwest English Setter Rescue!

Don't have an English Setter or a favorite photo of your Setter to submit? No worries, you can participate AND support SWESR by browsing the amazing photos and stories of English Setters, picking your favorites and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE. Check back often, photos will be added throughout the contest. What a great way to start your day on a happy note, looking at pictures of English Setters and voting to support English Setter rescue!

Contest begins 7:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 and runs through 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.


The top vote recipient will be featured on the cover of the 2024 SWESR calendar AND will have a full page feature at the back of the calendar with your dog's story and additional pictures you provide after the contest ends.

• a 16x20 digital painting printed on canvas and framed of your pet by Internationally award-winning PPA Master Artist and Master Photographer Danica Barreau. Danica uses your photographs as references to create beautiful art that you can proudly display in your home. Winner will have the opportunity to decide on a head/shoulders painting or an environmental portrait. Danica's work can be viewed on her website at https://pouka.com. The next 12 entries with the highest number of votes will have their photo featured as a full-page pet-of-the month in the SWESR 2024 calendar AND will also receive:

• All entries with 25 or more votes will appear as small date-box photos throughout the SWESR 2024 calendar
