Pet's Story or Bio
Roxie’s journey began in an orchard in Bakersfield, California, where she was living as a feral dog with her five puppies. Rescued by Leashes of Love Rescue in October 2021, she was brought to safety and began her new life with a foster mom. I adopted her in February 2022, instantly falling in love with her sweet, gentle spirit. Curious about her background, I had a DNA test done and it turned out, she’s mostly Pit Bull!

In an amazing twist, I found the family who adopted one of her daughters through the DNA test and learned more about Roxie’s past through them. Knowing her history has made our bond even stronger and has helped me train her.

Today, Roxie is not only my service dog, but also a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Together, we volunteer in hospitals, nursing homes, libraries, and as part of the LAX PUPs program, helping to comfort travelers at Los Angeles International Airport.

Roxie brings love, comfort, and joy wherever she goes. She has touched the lives of countless people with her calm presence and big heart. To me and to many others, she’s the very bestest girl in the whole world. You can follow her adventures on Instagram @foxieroxie.theittybittypitty.
