Rules

  • $25 donation photo entry fee, each entry gets one free 2021 SPCA Monterey County calendar. Entrants will receive their calendars in the mail by late November 2020. Just in time for the Holiday Season!
  • Contest is open to pets of all species.
  • Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the SPCA Monterey County to be eligible to enter this contest.
  • Your photo may contain more than one pet.
  • Photos must be of companion animals only— no people.
  • All photos must be in color- No black and white photos. Photos must be horizontal. We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers or doodles, or any copyrighted or professional photos. Computer-generated images will not be accepted.
  • Dogs and cats wearing collars/ID tags and cats photographed indoors will receive the best possible consideration.
  • Once entered, photos may be used by SPCA Monterey County to be used for print and marketing purposes.
  • Online entries must be submitted before July 31, 2020, 11:59:59 PM PST.
  • Mail-in or in-person entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. PST on July 31, 2020, at SPCA Monterey County, located at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Hwy Salinas, CA 93908. Photos will not be returned.

PHOTO SELECTION
  • To be considered as a Pet-of-the-Month photo, all cats or dogs in your photo MUST be wearing tags and collars.
  • Digital photos recommended. Photos must be high resolution. Ensure all cell phone photos are taken at their highest resolution.
  • All photos submitted will be considered for month winner photos, regardless of number of votes. All other photos will be placed throughout the calendar.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES
VOTE and have your friends and family do the same! You can win special prizes by having friends and family vote for your pet's photo. 

  • Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery on SPCA Monterey County's calendar website, and be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each.
  • All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online.
  • To vote online, click on the Participate tab above. The online voting period will end on July 31, 2020, 11:59:59 PM PST. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
  • Voting by mail is accepted. Votes by mail and phone must be received by the SPCA no later than July 31, 2020, 5:00 PM PST. Mail-in votes should be sent to P.O. Box 3058 Monterey, CA 93942. Photos will not be returned.
  • Donations can be made by check, cash, or credit card.
  • Envelopes must include your full name, address, phone number, the pet and entrant names you wish to vote for, and your written request to apply your enclosed donation towards votes for them in the 2021 Photo Fundraiser.
  • Voting by phone is accepted. Please call (831) 264-5403 during regular office hours to vote by phone with a credit card. Votes by phone must be received by SPCA Monterey County no later than July 31, 2020, 5:00 PM PST.
  • Ending time for the Photo Fundraiser will be determined by the host website's server, which will show prominently on the Photo Fundraiser website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
  • The photograph with the most votes (donations) at the end of the submission period will win the voting portion of the Photo Fundraiser.
  • All votes are donations to SPCA Monterey County and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. All donors will receive an emailed receipt for their contributions.
