Pet's Story or Bio
Gennie arrived at a horse rescue as an orphan with another mare. The mare she arrived with got adopted not too long after and she stayed behind. A year after her arrival I started volunteering at the rescue. I was told she was considered an “untouchable” since she showed affection towards humans, but didn’t want to be touched by them. I would spend endless hours every weekend in the pasture with all the horses, letting them get to know me by watching me work or just sit. As I was grooming one of the horses in the pasture she approached me and stood there as if waiting for me to brush her coat. Since that first day she allowed me to groom her, our bond has only become stronger and our story has only begun. I nick named her “pistol whip” Gennie because of how protective she gets over me with other horses.
