A little about me...
Kumo is a very special Great Dane. He was born a double merle, which meant he came into the world deaf. When Kumo was just six months old, life handed him another challenge. One of his eyes began to fail due to chronic glaucoma, and he eventually went blind in that eye. The condition required medical care and ultimately surgery to remove the eye.

The first time I met Kumo, I knew he was extraordinary. I instantly fell in love with his carefree, happy-go-lucky personality. He doesn’t discriminate—he gets along with every living being, whether it’s a person, another dog, or even animals outside his own species.
His disabilities have never slowed him down or defined him—he doesn’t see himself as different. To Kumo, life is about love, play, and companionship. Being deaf and visually impaired has never stopped Kumo from living fully and joyfully. He runs, plays, and cuddles just like any other dog—he truly is the definition of a gentle giant, a dog whose heart is as big as his stature.

Kumo reminds everyone he meets that love knows no limits. His journey has not been easy, but through it all, he has remained playful, kind, and full of joy. Anyone who has the privilege of knowing Kumo quickly learns that he doesn’t just live with challenges—he overcomes them with grace, happiness, and love to share with the whole world.
