2025 Tails of Summer Pet Photo Contest

• This contest is open to all residents of the United States ages 18 or older, except where prohibited by law.
• Corporations that sponsor Emancipet’s Summer Pet Photo Contest are not eligible to participate or win. This excludes employees of the corporation, who are eligible to participate. 
  
  

• Each participant may submit as many individual photographs of their pet(s) as they wish. Submissions will be open from 8:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 to 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025
• Photos must be in file formats JPEG, PNG
• Photos must be submitted through the contest platform through Gogo Photo Contest (www.gogophotocontest.com/summerphotocontest)
• Each entry requires a non-refundable entry fee of $1 (one US dollar). Payment instructions will be provided during the submission process.
• Each submission must include the following information:
  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Optional: Age, Location and A brief description of your pet
• Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines or do not include the entry fee will be disqualified.
• By entering the Contest, you warrant that you are the copyright owner of your entries, that the work is original to you, and that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or any other rights of another person.
  
  

• Voting will be conducted via donations to Emancipet, a 501c3 organization.
• Each vote costs $1 (one US dollar).
• There is a minimum donation of $5 (five US dollars) per voting session, which equates to 5 votes.
• How Voting Works: When you donate to vote, you will receive a "bank" of votes equal to your donation amount. You can then distribute these votes among the submitted photographs as you choose. You can place all your votes on one entry or spread them across multiple entries.
• Voting will be open on a rolling basis from 8:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
  
  

• The top 2 photographs with the highest number of votes will be declared the winners; “Grand Prize” receiving the most votes, and “runner up” receiving the second highest number of votes.
• In the event that one person has the top two vote-getting entries, they will be awarded the Grand Prize. The prize for Runner-Up will then be awarded to the entry with the next highest number of votes from a different participant.

By entering the Contest, you accept the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Eligibility: The Emancipet Summer Photo Contest (“the Contest”) is open to all residents of the United States ages 18 or older, except where prohibited by law.
   
   
2. Acceptance of Terms: By entering the Contest, you accept these Terms and Conditions. We may cancel or amend the Contest, or these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. These Terms and Conditions were last updated in May 2025.
   
   
3. Entry Period: The Contest opens at 8:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The closing time for votes is 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
   
   
4. How to Enter: To enter the Contest, you must upload and submit your photograph entry in an accepted format, pay the entry fee of $1 USD, and provide the requested contact information. You are free to submit as many individual entries as you wish. You may only win once, even if you have the two highest numbers of votes (i.e., if you have an entry with a high number of votes and another entry with an even higher number of votes, and those entries have the highest number of votes in the contest, you will be the Grand Prize Winner only. The entry with the next highest number of votes that is not an entry of yours will be the Runner-Up.)
   
   
5. Original Work: Your entry must be entirely original to you and not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or any other rights of another person. We can refuse to accept an entry for any reason, including: (a) defamatory or malicious content; (b) content which someone else owns the copyright or other intellectual property rights to; (c) breach of these Terms and Conditions.
   
   
6. License to Use Entry: By entering the Contest, you grant Emancipet (Emancipet, with its primary locations in Texas and Pennsylvania) a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable, and transferable license to use your entry for any charitable purpose, including promotion of the Contest, and for future promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid. This includes the right to edit your entry and to feature the Grand Prize-winning pet on Emancipet merchandise.
   
   
7. Public Vote / Overall Engagement: The public is invited to vote for their favorite entries (“the Public Vote”) by making a donation. Each vote costs $1 USD, with a minimum donation of $5 USD (5 votes) per voting session. Voters will receive a bank of votes equivalent to their donation amount to apply to entries. We reserve the right to not accept votes if we suspect they were fraudulently cast and to disqualify any winner who engages in activity which could unfairly manipulate the outcome of the Public Vote, including the use of bots or other automated means. The top two entries with the highest number of public votes will be the Winners (Grand Prize and Runner-Up, subject to the condition in Section 4 regarding multiple winning entries from one person). In the event of an equal number of votes for the top positions, [Specify tie-breaking method, e.g., Emancipet will determine the winner].
   
   
8. Winner Notification: We will take all reasonable steps to contact the potential Winners using the details provided by them when they entered the competition. In the event of any failure to do so or a potential Winner’s failure to respond within 72 hours, we reserve the right to select an alternative winner (the entrant with the next highest number of votes from a different participant). We will publicly announce the names of the Winners.
   
   
9. Prize: The Grand Prize Winner will have their pet featured on Emancipet merchandise in our online retail store (design launching August 2025), receive a prize pack of Emancipet + sponsor goodies, and be featured on the Emancipet blog and communications, including social media. The Runner-Up will receive a prize pack and a feature on Emancipet social media. You acknowledge that the prize is non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash or any other value or consideration.
   
   
10. Data Protection And Publicity: We may use all Winners' names and entries for any charitable purpose, including promotion of the Contest, and for future promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid. Any personal information collected from participants and voters will be used solely for the purpose of administering this contest and as outlined in the privacy policy of Emancipet: https://emancipet.org/privacy-policy/
    
    
11. Liability: We are not responsible for any damage, loss, or injury suffered by you entering the Contest or accepting the Prize. We are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in the Contest. We do not promise that the services relating to the Contest will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond our control. We will not be liable in the event that all or any part of the service relating to the Contest is discontinued, modified, or changed in any way.
    
    
12. Standard Terms: In the event that you do not, or are unable to, comply with and meet these Terms and Conditions, we may disqualify you. In these circumstances, any prize you win may be forfeited. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. These Terms and Conditions shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Texas, and any claims brought pursuant to these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Travis County, Texas.
