About

1) We've been an active part of your community for the last 15 years, providing care, compassion, and loving homes to nearly 1,000 lost, neglected, abused, and unwanted pets, each year, throughout Teller County – with a large percentage of adoptions in El Paso County. We're a small, but mighty shelter, with a passionate board, dedicated staff, and a whole host of the most wonderful volunteers.

With your support, TCRAS will be able to continue its mission: Forever improving the lives of animals in our community. What does that mean? To provide education and outreach in our community, medical services for needy animals, safe shelter for homeless animals, and strong adoption and foster programs to ensure that every companion animal lives in a safe, loving, and secure home.

TCRAS is a 501c3, donor funded, volunteer organization whose mission is 'forever improving the lives of animals in our community'. Serving the Pike's Peak region, we work to find homes for animals, fosters families, volunteers, and regularly seek opportunities to educate our community on best practices in animal care. The shelter gives every animal that enters its doors the time, medical treatment, high-level care, and love it needs to be ready for their next happy phase of life. Some animals remain at TCRAS for several weeks, until the right family is found, some even longer; some require hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars of treatment due to preexisting medical conditions. We provide all they need to thrive.
